Mihi

All week Te Ngahere was making a vishal mihi. Not a lot of people do the mihi in the morning so everyone had to learn it by make a google drawing and put in the images to remind us what is means so that we learn it. I put a bell bird in it because it remind of the first line in the mihi.

Reading

A few weeks back in the Blue reading group, Ocean, Max, Tarquinn, Cilla, Lesane and I were reading about a book called Holding my breath By Melinda Szymanik.

It was about a boy who did not know how to breath properly when he is swimming.

We were learning to answer inference questions and write it on a google doc.

2. Why did the main character like to hold his breath?

         The main character like to hold his breath because he can not         seem to get the rhythm right when he did them all at once.

3. What forced the boy to swim out to the raft?

       The boy was forced to go to the raft because Rod had slipped and  he would not get back up.

4. What other choices did he have?

       The other choices he had was to go up and tell the boys to go           get him.

5. What water safety rule did he ignore?

       The water safety to breathe properly when you swim.

6. What happened once the boys arrived?

       The boy started not help Rod and the boy

7. It took the main character a hard lesson to encourage him to learn to swim properly.  Tell us a similar situation you have had.

common and proper nouns

Last week Te Ngahere were learning how to write common and proper nouns in our report writing.

We created a google  drawing and put proper nouns and common nouns in it.

This is a common and a proper noun all together.

Math goals

Last week Te Ngahere was given an Ican sheet and Te Ngahere  had to fill it out with what we need to learn and what we know. Then when we were done we had to do a Google Drawing and we had to choose 3 Math Goals that we needed to learn about. The reason we did these Maths Goals is to make our Teacher's  job a heck of alot easier because they use our goals to plan and don’t teach stuff we already know.

Goals

Last week Te Ngahere started doing a google drawing of our writing goals.We needed to get our goals setting sheet so that we can get them to a google drawing.

Writing

For Matariki Te Ngahere did koru and kowhaiwhai.We needed to do it  of our family. In my family I put my Nan, Gran, Mum, Dad, Sister, brother and me. In my painting I did a lot of color.

After I drew my art I was painting it and when it was painted I got a marker and drew around it.

Spinner

A couple of weeks ago Te Ngahere and Te Maunga were doing art.

The goal was to draw a Fidget Spinner with a pencil on a scrap piece of paper. Then when the teacher was ready she would give us  an  A3 piece of paper and we had to draw a Fidget Spinner with pencil  and color it with crayon, then dye it.The WALT was use space, crayon and dye. Here are some pictures.

Making Ice cream.

Last Friday Te Ngahere was  learning how to make vanilla ice cream.

After we made ice cream Te Ngahere needed to write a recount.

The Tangelo

Te Ngahere was writing about Tangelos. We were doing descriptive writing about Tangelos some of us did not know what a Tangelo was. So we all tried one then we had to write what it smells like, what it sounds like, what it tastes like.

The Tangelo

The Tangelo looks like a bumpy, orange stress ball.

The Tangelo feels like an scrunched up  piece of orange  paper wrapped up in glad wrap very well wrapped .

Smells like a yummy worm smell of summer.

The tangelo sounds  like a crispy, crackly sound.

The tangelo tastes not just like an orange but like a sweet juicy mouth watering tasty lolly.

The skin of the tangelo is a sourer sweet taste

As I bite into it and the juice squirts everywhere.
